Dutch Brothers Ready Mix Plays A Part In The Tricar Groups' Massive Concrete Pour At The Grove Masonville
In the busy neighborhood of Masonville, London, Ontario, a remarkable construction milestone went underway with The Grove Masonville—an ambitious project by The Tricar Group.
A critical component of this massive development is the recent raft slab pour, which represents one of the largest concrete pours the city has seen. Dutch Brothers Ready Mix, played a pivotal role in ensuring this complex task was a success through their supply of high-quality concrete and collaboration with other industry experts.
The Scope of the Pour
The scale of the The Grove Masonville pour is nothing short of impressive. 4500m3 of concrete poured, all due to the collaboration of 5 pumps, 140 trucks and 500 loads of concrete. This large feat couldn’t have been made possible without all of the collaboration between Dufferin Concrete, Teeswater Concrete, Granite Concrete Pumping and many others. We were very proud to be a part of this project!

That’s why we recently hosted the American Concrete Institute (ACI) Grade 1 Certification, bringing together professionals from across the construction sector to enhance their skills, stay up to date with industry standards, and ensure the highest level of quality in concrete construction. A Hands-On Learning Experience The ACI Grade 1 Certification provided participants with the opportunity to undergo practical training and certification exams for concrete field testing. This event is crucial for ensuring that industry professionals are well-versed in proper testing procedures, which play a vital role in maintaining the integrity and durability of concrete structures. Under the guidance of certified ACI examiners and experienced J-AAR Structural Group team members, attendees were able to perform essential tests, including slump tests, air content tests, unit weight measurements, and cylinder preparation for compressive strength testing. These hands-on experiences help reinforce best practices and ensure compliance with industry standards. Strengthening Industry Standards ACI certifications are widely recognized in the construction industry as a benchmark for excellence in concrete testing. By hosting this event, J-AAR Structural Group and Dutch Brothers Ready Mix contributed to the ongoing professional development of industry personnel, reinforcing the importance of quality control and precision in every project. Western Engineering Steel Bridge (WESB) at Western University exemplifies the transformative impact of such support. The 2023-2024 Canadian National Steel Bridge Competition (CNSBC) marked another successful year for WESB, showcasing their dedication, skill, and teamwork. At the competition in Québec City, Québec, WESB achieved remarkable feats, including a team record build time of 13:01 and the fastest deconstruction time. This third consecutive appearance underscored not just numerical growth, with a record 12 team members, but also a commitment to nurturing new talent, with half being first-time attendees. Sponsorship facilitates more than just competition readiness; it fosters a close-knit community of aspiring engineers and cultivates lasting bonds. As WESB looks ahead to CNSBC 2025 in Winnipeg, Manitoba, we reaffirm our commitment to empowering young talent and fostering innovation. Way to go WESB!

Our journey began in March 2023 when volunteer speaker Elisa Kilbourne shared her poignant story with the J-AAR team. Moved by her message, the company adopted Threads of Life as their charity of choice for the year. Throughout 2023, J-AAR organized various fundraising events, including golf tournaments and staff gatherings, alongside donating a percentage from sales of branded merchandise. Our efforts culminated in a grand gesture this spring, as J-AAR Limited presented Threads of Life with a staggering cheque of $105,495 at their annual meeting.
